Koh Phangan (Genesis)

Today was the day we were to travel to full moon island. We left the hotel at about 12 and travelled to the boat place, while waiting in the queue it was clear it was a male dominated island, which suited me because I prefer men anyway. Once on the boat it was packed out with bags and people so we found some spare area and parked our bums. The journey was average and I listened to some Naturally7, we arrived at the island and struggled our way off the boat before following Jon's lead to the hotel which was apparently "really nice" and right next to the beach, I was willing to believe him because I'm a trusting kind of guy. After a reasonably long walk we saw a tower block up ahead which looked grubby, sure enough it was our hotel so we walked in, checked in then checked out...our room, which I have to say is horrible, I don't know which pictures Jon saw when booking this place but hopefully he was lied to because if this is his idea of really nice then quite frankly I'm disgusted.

Points worth mentioning are a mystery stain on my bed and pillow, more stains of random stuff on the walls, poor drainage in the bathroom, 2 windows at the top of the wall in the bathroom so people could look in if they chose, backs onto the pool so people walk past and look in constantly, bed makes me itch and shit music being played loudly outside our window. We went out for some lunch and it was reasonably tasty, we left and head towards the beach which is probably a 10 minute walk from our hotel, it was quite a long beach and Jon automatically pointed us in the direction of the busiest bit for some reason, perhaps he likes being sat right next to people, the closer we got to the busy bit the more it annoyed me, it was like being in Malia or Magaluf, mainly drunk English people with bars and loud music, maybe I'm being an old man but iv done those things and I didn't want to come half way round the world and sit in a bar with drunk English people because you can do that at home. I decided i would go back to the hotel and have a shower, so I did then I watched a documentary about Bigfoot and then something about sharks.

When the guys returned we discussed life and just general guy things before the delightful Irish girls came round to tell us where to meet them for the nights events and also brought maltesers which I refused to share. Jon had a rare moment of panic when once again he lost his money aswell as his marbles, Jon was once again talking about how in love he was with a girl back at home, ----COMMENT REMOVED BY REQUEST ----.

We made ourselves look pretty and walked out the door for our first night on the island and to the meeting place to find the galsss, one drink later we were told the place was closing so we took to the beach and carried out a small crawl along the bars while watching people play with fire, one man was amazing and I actually fell in love with him a little bit purely through his ability to twirl a flaming stick round his hand. After all the crawling we stood up and walked back to the hotel on the way we encountered "confident dog" he posed for a picture and we walked off, we lined up for another picture and out of nowhere confident dog turned up and joined in the picture, everytime the camera came out the dog was never far away.

He even followed us for around half a mile up to our hotel room door before Max heartlessly shut the door in his face, after a few minutes I opened it and whistled hoping he would come running like a scene from lassie, sadly he never turned up and was left worrying for his safety, I wondered if he had done something stupid and ended his life after the rejection but I shut the door and thought about all the good times we shared and it helped me through the pain. We then changed into swim wear and went for late night swim, it was freezing but enjoyable, slowly but surely everyone peeled off for bed until I decided it was time to join them and came in, stripped down to my bare flesh then put some dry shorts on, for a brief moment I was naked, just take a second to imagine that.....yum ;)
