Koh Samui The Arrival

We left the hostile desert like conditions of the sleeper train and emptied out onto the platform, quickly herded like sheep into a waiting area full of westerners where no one really knew what was going on or where they were supposed to be. We knew we were waiting for a bus and when we asked the tour man how long it will be he replied "not long about 30 minutes" before laughing, the humour within his sentence escaped us but obviously there was something worth laughing about that us ignorant English couldn't understand. Our bus arrived and we spent about an hour on there, during which the lights and ceiling started leaking and Max fell asleep.

I tuned into another episode of the Russell Brand Podcast that used to feature on BBC Radio 2 before coming to an untimely halt because of a washed up old man, I could be heard laughing to myself on many occasions which annoyed Jon who said "how can you find something funny that you've listened to before", Jon's logic confused me so much that I was almost inclined to spit in his face, instead I just said I found him funny and we both left it at that. We arrived and boarded the boat on a 1 hour trip to Koh Samui, they had a whole host of shows such as British Comedy Awards 2010 and Gordon Ramsey's The F Word all of which had sound so quite that all you could hear was the constant mumble of 100 people's conversations.

Once we arrived we had to collect out bags which were situated at the front of the boat in piles, any sense of order quickly disappeared as the locals pushed their way to the front, one German lady who was at the front even said "Are we allowed to move the other bags" i couldnt beleive it, i shook my head and sat down before i collapsed at how ridiculous the whole situation was, once it died down i grabbed my bag and we headed out to the road and located a taxi, we pointed out Chewang as our destination as we knew a couple of ladies who were in the vicinity for 1 more night. Once we arrived we performed our speciality of staying in the first place offered, to be fair it's a nice room and a very competitive price so none of us were complaining, apart from the bedroom design of only having 1 plug socket, in the bathroom.

We went out for team eats which was essential as we hadn't eaten for nearly 24 hours, we chose Bondi Bar, an Australian themed bar with typical pub food, Max really shook off his Burger and Chips Brigade image by having a Bacon and Cheese Burger, whilst browsing a limited menu I was forced against my wishes to have a peri peri chicken burger, it was not very nice but never one to be beaten I devoured the whole god dam thing, Jon for once actually didn't have a burger of any sort which actually caused one man to fall off his chair, the same man quickly dusted himself off, apologised and sat back down when Jon completed his order of Fish and Chips, they say you can take the boy out of England but you can't take the England out of the boy, this has never applied to anyone more than it does to Jon. After we finished up, Max and Jon left some food because they are weak, we went back to the room for team shit and team sleep.

Many hours later we awoke to some great tunes on an Asian music TV Channel called V, it was during a viewers playlist that Jason Mraz came on TWICE! Once with Colbie Caillat performing Lucky, and another time by himself singing his timeless classic I'm Yours. We then prepared ourselves and headed out to meet the Irish girls we had just arranged to see at Bondi Bar, we found them and spent the whole evening in their company playing pool, sipping drinks and general conversation whilst admiring me and my pool ability, individually I was crowned the best player. We then went to the beach where Jon and Max went for a late night dip then back to the hotel but not before we had said goodbye to the girls who are leaving tomorrow morning, but don't despair reader we shall see them again on Koh Phanghan in just a few days time!

Back at the hotel at 4.30am sleep was top of the teams agenda and it was quickly initiated by Jon who I'm pretty sure hit his head too hard on the pillow and rendered himself unconscious as iv never seen someone fall asleep so quickly, Max paced the room for a bit like a caged animal before exhausting himself and falling asleep quite quickly, I on the other hand am not used to coming in so early so I am currently staying up writing this then I shall try for sleep straight after, and that brings you up to date with the teams adventure and concludes our first day on this island.
